Pavilion on West Lake

Posted by Lai Chan See (Singapore, Singapore) on 9 January 2014 in Architecture and Portfolio.

The West Lake in Hangzhou has been famous for its beautiful scenery for centuries. Since the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907) it has inspired poets and artists who extolled its beauty in their works. Many pavilions, causeways, pagodas, bridges, and gardens are scattered around the area, rendering the whole environment an idealised landscape of harmony between humans and nature.
