Frontage of a Traditional House

Posted by Lai Chan See (Singapore, Singapore) on 25 June 2017 in Architecture and Portfolio.

The Blair Road - Everton Road - Neil Road area near the Singapore General Hospital has a collection of traditional shophouses with their characteristic frontages. Many of these shophouses, built between World Wars I and II, have been demolished to make way for development. However in recent years their heritage value is being recognised and such houses in a few areas in Singapore have been gazetted for conservation.
