Durham Cathedral

Following on Curly's beautiful series in recent days -
Many of these photographs were taken surreptitiously since photography is prohibited in the Cathedral. A few were taken following an encounter with one of the robed officials standing nearby. I struck up a friendly conversation with her, praising the magnificent architecture and interior, and lamenting that I would have to go home without any visual memory of the Cathedral's beauty. I then suggested that she walked around a bit so that she would not have to see me taking a few pictures without flash, as a memento of my visit. She willingly obliged and I had my shots.
