Durham Cathedral

Posted by Lai Chan See (Singapore, Singapore) on 12 August 2017 in Architecture and Portfolio.

A painting of St Cuthbert hangs from the ceiling. St Cuthbert (AD 635 - 687), a shepherd who became a monk, became Bishop of Lindisfarne, an island (during high tide) near the English-Scottish border on the east coast. He was originally buried at Lindisfarne, but later his body was carried by his followers to the mainland where he was finally buried in Durham Cathedral.
